Song: (optional)
We are gathered here today, to join___________________________
and _______________________ on the first day of their married
lives together. To share their love and happiness, on such and
important day in their lives.
May their relationship grow and mature with each passing year.
As they receive life’s sorrows and lighten each other’s
burdens. So will they multiply life’s joys and enhance
its blessings by sharing them in love. And so it is that we serve
witness to a Promise and a Gift: the promise – Faith and
the Gift—Love.
The bond of marriage is a binding covenant to be entered into
only in the utmost of good faith and to endure for so long as
you both shall live. Truly then, it is a beautiful tribute to
your undoubted faith in one another; that recognizing the full
import of you vows you are, nevertheless, so willing and ready
to pronounce them.
(Groom)_________________________will you take this woman to
be your wedded wife, to live with her in lawful state of wedlock,
to love, comfort, honor, respect, protect and keep her, in sickness
and in health, forsaking all others, so long as you both shall
live?
(Bride)_________________________will you take this man to
be your wedded husband, to live with him in lawful state of
wedlock, to love, comfort, honor, respect, protect and keep him,
in sickness and in health, forsaking all others, so long as you
both shall live?
(Groom) repeat after me:
I__________________________, take you _________________________
to be my wedded wife, to have and to hold, from this day
forward, for better or for worse, for richer or for poorer,
in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, for as
long as we both shall live.
(Bride) repeat after me:
I__________________________, take you _________________________to
be my wedded husband, to have and to hold, from this day
forward, for better or for worse, for richer or for poorer,
in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, for as
long as we both shall live.
Groom place the ring on the Brides finger.
___________________________, I offer you this ring, as a token
of my love, to be yours for all eternity.
Bride place the ring on the Grooms finger.
__________________________, I offer you this ring, as a token
of my love, to be yours for all eternity.
As witnessed before this company, __________________________and
___________________________ have consented to take each other
in lawful wedlock, they have given and pledged their faithfulness
each to the other, and have declared the same by exchanging tokens
of their love, and by joining hands. And now by virtue of the
authority vested in me under the laws of the State of Rhode Island
and Providence Plantations. I pronounce them husband and wife,
and declare that they have been lawfully married.
You may kiss your bride.
