Song: “Here Comes The Bride” (optional)
On this very special occasion we give thanks for all the rich
experiences of life, which has brought__________________ and
______________________________ to this high point in their lives.
We are grateful for the values instilled in them from those who
have loved and nurtured them and pointed along life’s’ ways.
We are grateful for the values they have found by their own strivings.
Within them is a dream of a great love and the resources to use
that love in creating a home, which shall endure. May their relationship
grow and mature with each passing year. As they divide life’s’ sorrows
and lighten each others burdens so to will they multiply life’s
joys and heighten it’s blessing by sharing them in love.
And so it is that we serve witness to a Promise and a Gift: the
Promise – Faith; the Gift – Love.
We have assembled
to join in marriage ________________________
and ______________________________. The bond of marriage is
a binding covenant to be entered into only in the utmost of
good faith and to endure for so long as you both shall live.
This
union then is most serious, because it will bind you together
in a relationship so close and so intimate that it will profoundly
influence your future.
That future, with its successes and its failures, its pleasures
and its pains, its joys and its sorrows --- is hidden now from
your eyes. And yet you know that these elements are mingled into
every life and are to be expected in your own. And so, not knowing
what is before you, you take each other for better or for worse,
for richer or for poorer, in sickness and in health.
Truly then
it is a beautiful tribute to your undoubted faith in each other;
that recognizing the full import of your vows you are nevertheless,
so willing and ready to pronounce them.
______________________________(Groom), Will you take this woman
to be your wedded wife and to live with her in lawful state of
wedlock?
______________________________(Bride), Will you take
this man to be your wedded husband and to live with him in
lawful state of wedlock?
Please Repeat After Me
I, __________________________(groom), take you ___________________________(bride),
to be my wedded wife, to have and to hold, from this day forward,
for better or for worse, for richer or for poorer, in sickness
and in health, to love and to cherish, for so long as we both
shall live.
Please Repeat After Me
I, _________________________(bride), take you________________________(groom),
to be my wedded husband, to have and to hold, from this day forward,
for better or for worse, for richer or for poorer, in sickness
and in health, to love and to cherish, so long as we both shall
live.
At This Point Have The Man Put The Ring On Her Finger:
(Groom): _____________________________, I offer you this ring,
as a token of my love, to be yours for all eternity.
(Bride): ______________________________, I accept this ring
and take you as my husband.
At This Point Have The Woman Put The Ring On His Finger
(Bride): ______________________________, I offer you this ring,
as a token of my love, to be yours for all eternity.
(Groom): _____________________________, I accept this ring and
take you as my wife.
Song: (optional)
Lighting of the Unity Candle (optional)
May Summer’s beauty remain in your marriage and in your
home. May there be warmth and gentleness, love and care and song
of life through all the days that lie ahead. You are two individuals
who enrich your existence by having a single life and sharing
that life together.
There is no limit to the beautiful facets your relationship
will foster, for there awaits both of you all the joys of growing
in a life which you shall share for years to come.
Whereby _____________________
and _________________________ have consented to take each other
In lawful wedlock and have witnessed the same before this company
and have given and have pledged their faithfulness each to
the other, and have declared the same by giving and receiving
tokens of their love, and by joining hands, now by virtue of
the authority vested in me under the laws of The State of Rhode
Island and Providence Plantations, I hereby pronounce you husband
and wife and declare that you have been lawfully married.
